Ideal City

The concept of the 'ideal city' is important when planners and architects are firmly confined by considerations of our immediate environment. This work traces the progress of the concept from biblical sources through the Hellenistic and Roman empires to the Renaissance and the Age of Enlightenment; also discussing the 19th century ideal planning.
