This book offers new interpretations of the origins and development of the kingdom or lordship of Galloway, and traces the evolution of the Lordship of Galloway from the Norse diaspora that followed the expulsion of the Vikings from Dublin in the early tenth century and the resulting establishment of new colonies around the Irish Sea.
