The Stranger’s Gift

Short, accessible fiction for teens, designed to be dyslexia-friendly.

Award-winning author Tanya Landman delivers an engaging quick read for struggling teen readers in this clever retelling of a classic tale, where one man’s cunning trick transforms stone into soup.

As a hungry traveler approaches a distant village on market day, he hopes to find food and a place to rest. Instead, he is met with suspicion and turned away by the wary villagers. With nothing but a single bowl and a stone picked up along the road, he must depend on his ingenuity and sharp thinking.

Can the stranger outwit the villagers and win them over with his resourceful plan?

Barrington Stoke uses dyslexic friendly font, extra line spacing, and glare-reducing tinted paper to make great stories accessible to all readers.
