Three Turk Plays from Early Modern England

Presents a collection of three "Turk" plays namely "Selimus, Emperor of the Turks"; "A Christian Turned Turk"; and "The Renegado". It represents Islamic power and wealth in scenes of piracy on the high seas, on-stage execution by strangulation, and rites of religious conversion. It is useful for understanding the English identity.
